Jennifer Pike

Hello all. I'm Jennifer Pike and I am running for President of the Residents' Association. Some of you may already know me as I've attended every event since moving into the building. I look forward to meeting more of you at future events.

I believe the most important parts of this association are as follows:

1. Working with building administration to get things done such as fixing doors and elevators, resurfacing the jacuzzi, and upgrading the equipment in the gym. I've already started getting to know the building staff and plan to set up an easy way for all of you to send me requests and suggestions for other issues/improvements.

2. Building active membership within our association. This is a marketing effort, and with 30 years of experience in marketing, I plan to use those skills to increase engagement and participation.

These are some of my initial ideas:

  •  Build a new website where announcements can be shared, membership cards (including discounts to local shops and restaurants) can be purchased, and residents can easily submit requests and suggestions. As a web developer, I can build this at no cost to the association.

  • A weekly or monthly email to keep everyone informed about upcoming events, with the option to include sponsorships. Any sponsorship revenue would go back to the association and our charity efforts.

  • Plan events throughout the year that reflect the mix of people in the building, their ages, interests, hobbies, and careers. This could include happy hours, networking events, a possible singles social, dog walk meetups, and more.

  • Plan a daytime 80s pool party this summer with a well-known 70s and 80s cover band familiar to LA locals.

  • For larger events, I may seek sponsorships to help cover costs instead of charging residents. If you are business minded and would like to get involved, please feel free to reach out.

  • I also plan to keep the Christmas fundraiser going and already have a few ideas to add to it

A little bit about me...

I started as an event planner at 20th Century Fox and the FOX Network. From there, I went on to lead events and promotions for several music venues including Key Club Hollywood, and eventually LA Weekly. At Key Club, I was among the first to build email marketing chains. At LA Weekly (back in the MySpace days) I was among the first ever to use social media for business outreach. From there, I went on to get a second degree in web design and development.

Today, I own a digital marketing agency where I use the skills I’ve built over the years to help businesses grow their visibility and clientele. As a highly creative person who enjoys helping others succeed, I truly love what I do, and it would be an honor to apply that experience to the community at The Shores.

Kevin Marcy

I would like to serve as president of The Shores Residents Association because I have a long-standing commitment to leadership, community service, and bringing people together.

As an Eagle Scout, I learned the importance of responsibility, integrity, and serving others. My experience as high school student body president taught me how to represent the interests of a diverse group and work collaboratively to improve the community.

Later, as Programming Director at USC Law School, I developed strong organizational and problem-solving skills by coordinating events and initiatives that benefited students and faculty alike. In addition, my role as Vice President of Guest Relations at the House of Blues strengthened my ability to foster positive relationships, address concerns effectively, and create a welcoming environment.

I believe these experiences have prepared me to lead our association with dedication, fairness, and a focus on enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
